🟥 Bad Beat or Misplay? 🂡

River killed the pot or you leveled yourself into a hero call? Let’s break hands down together. Post the full line, run the math, and decide if it was a true bad beat or a misplay.

🎯 What to Share

  • Stakes & stacks: blinds, effective stacks in bb.
  • Positions: who opened, who called, who 3-bet.
  • Hole cards and board street by street.
  • Actions with sizes: bets in bb or % pot on each street.
  • Reads: tendencies, recent showdowns, timing tells.

🧮 Quick River Check

  • Pot odds: required equity = call / (pot + call). If villain bets 60% pot, you need about 37.5%.
  • Range compare: list value hands, bluffs, and blocker effects. Ask if worse value calls and if missed draws exist.
  • Combo sanity: count realistic combos, not all theoretical ones.

🧪 Handy Template

Game: NL25, 100 bb eff
Preflop: CO opens 2.2 bb, BTN calls, Hero BB calls A J suited. Pot 7.1 bb
Flop: J 7 3 — Hero checks, CO 3.5 bb, BTN folds, Hero calls. Pot 14.1 bb
Turn: 8 — Hero checks, CO 9.5 bb, Hero calls. Pot 33.1 bb
River: Q — Hero checks, CO 22 bb (66% pot). Decision?

How We’ll Judge It

  • Line logic: did your earlier streets set up a tough river?
  • Sizing: were bets sized to deny equity and get value from worse?
  • Exploit vs GTO: did you adapt to pool tendencies or fold the solver’s thin spots?

Drop your hand with positions and sizings. We will tag it as bad beat or misplay and suggest a cleaner line.
